Battle Rules

Battles can get pretty hectic, that's for sure. However, a few rules will make sure that nobody lags behind too much.
1: Distinguish between Rounds and Battles
This is critical, as I can see people getting easily confused when talking about battling with these terms.
Round: A single brawl between two or more combatants where they use all their battle card slots to try and win.
Battle: A collection of rounds that results in one side winning.
If these terms are not kept separate, then Battles become meaningless.
2: Limit your Card Usage
Amendment I&II: You can only negate two cards a round. (This clarification it curtsy of Creation and in IMMEDIATE effect. Already was but now its reflective of it.) Also if a card negates multiple cards a round. It will consume this limit.(This amendment is retracted)
3: Keep in mind the Bakugan Rule variant in use
The Rules that will be used on this site are the same as the ones found in Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia. 500 Life Points in a Life Gauge, one Gate Card.
4: Each player will post their abilities and the link(mandatory) to them
This allows each other to double check their effects and allow the staff to check as well. You can only use a maximum of 3 abilities per post and always allow a response. DO NOT direct attack unless the opponent has run out of abilities or passes without using one. To prevent long waits, the 3 day rule applies. If someone does not response in that time, it is considered a withdraw.
5: Be Reasonable
--AMENDMENT I: Only two negate abilities a round. Playing more negates is up to agreed rules in appropriate arenas. (Hard application of the rule: Stadium, and Digital Training.)
Amendment 1.5: See LIMIT YOUR CARD USAGE for further clarification to this rule.
Amendment 1.75: See the updated Negate rules. Disregard the crossed out rules.
6: Staff Responsibilities
Staff will handle rewards and give out advice at the end of brawls.
7: Attribute Reliance
8: Negation Rules
9: Make a backpack
For if you use something not in your backpack. Then that is cheating. Enough said.
10: Rewards
For every battle you participate in, you will receive a reward upon completion of the brawl. If you forfeit, either willingly or though the 3 Day Rule, you do not get rewards. For winning, you get 300, 400, or 500 cash, depending on the length of the brawl and your opponent. For example, a Master Brawler beating a new person is far more likely to get 300 Cash instead of 400 or 500. If you lose, however, you will gain a card slot, the color again depending on the length and your opponent. So a new person losing to a Master Brawler would be more likely to get a Red Card Slot. This is up to the discretion of the staff, so you will get what is deemed appropriate.
This is the Base stuff. The Advance stuff is up next.
11: Legacy Cards
Legacy Cards are all cards approved before The Great Negate Update. Since this update came with new card creation rules. Starting January 5th 12pm (account for you time zones please.) A card approved after this time is not a legacy card. To make these cards playable though still have double their cost. So a legacy Green normal card will cost 4 card count instead of 2 for example.

2: Limit your Card Usage
Keep in mind that you can only use 40 cards each round. A bakupack that holds many cards that only use small selection of effects will not do well against a Bakupack that has less cards but much more variety in the effects those cards use. There are many ways to brawl and may ways to win. You can use less then the 40 but not more unless you use the green effect "gain card count". However, should the card with that effect be countered that extra count goes away.

4: Each player will post their abilities and the link(mandatory) to them

5: Be Reasonable
No clearly illegal abilities. No unapproved abilities(in official brawls.) No killing abilities. (even in rps) That last one shouldn't have to be stated but I clearly must. AND PLEASE! Do not try to fight with staff. Ask first on why politely. I say this because some Admins don't take to kindly to people saying an Admin is wrong without asking "WHY" first or they face Grimm. (I do me best. ~signed Grimm)
Amendment 1.75: See the updated Negate rules. Disregard the crossed out rules.
--AMENDMENT II: Order of effects is how the effects must play out. Resolution of negation and alter play state effects happen in reverse. For example: protection, Negation, and attribute change is the order. Attribute change will resolve first. And then negation rules apply regardless of attribute change.
6: Staff Responsibilities
Staff will handle rewards and give out advice at the end of brawls.
7: Attribute Reliance
If your Attribute gets changed, any Ability used for that Attribute is worthless until you return to being that Attribute.
--AMENDMENT I: previously activated cards cannot be negated by an attribute change. But you can't play another ability without said attribute. So technically the original is correct. BUT. Anything played before the swap. is still in effect. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY For all and any brawls.
8: Negation Rules
When you play one negate card every other turn.
9: Make a backpack
For if you use something not in your backpack. Then that is cheating. Enough said.
10: Rewards
For every battle you participate in, you will receive a reward upon completion of the brawl. If you forfeit, either willingly or though the 3 Day Rule, you do not get rewards.
